Patience Bwalya is the 3rd born in a family of 5. She lives with siblings and her mother, who suffers from Epilepsy. Patience’s father abandoned her mother and the children in 2024. He is currently living in Kabwe and doesn’t support them in any way. Patience’s grandmother owns a small grocery store and supports patience and the rest of the family.

Elizabeth Bwalya is an only child. When she was 9 months old her mother was hit by a speeding car at the roadside and died on spot. Elizabeth lives with her grandmother who sells tomatoes and vegetables at Chiba market.

Bertha Musonda is the 5th born in the family of 6,she lives with her mother and siblings.Her father died in the year 2021.Bertha’s mother does pieceworks to support the family.

Josephine Chileshe is the last born in the family of 7. She lives with her father and siblings. Her mother died when she was five years old. Josephine’s father is a small scale farmer.

Tracy Nanyinza was born in 2014 as the 1st born in the family of 3. Her parents are divorced, and she currently lives with her mother and siblings and doesn’t know where her father is. Tracy’s mother sells Maize drink locally known as Munkoyo to support the family.

Blessings Chabala is 1st born in the family of 2. She lives with her mother and brother, and has never met her father. Blessing’s mother sells scones and vegetables to support the family. She lives with a disability and sometimes faces discrimination.

Catherine is the 3rd born in the family of 5. She lives with her mother and her siblings- her father died when she was just 2yrs old. Catherine’s mother is a small scale farmer and also sells fritters to support Catherine and her young sister who has cerebral palsy. Her young sister is supported through our Place of Happiness Project.

Elias Mulenga is the 6th born in a family of 8. His father died in 2019 and his mother lives in Mpepo village in Mpika – she survives by selling cassava. Elias started living with foster parents after his father’s death and doesn’t receive any support from his mother. Elias’ foster parents sell charcoal for their livelihood.
