Bakashana Basambilile, in collaboration with Digital Opportunity Trust and the Mastercard Foundation, invites passionate young leaders in Zambia to apply for the Youth Leadership Program 2026-2027. A link to apply can be found in the Call for Application. This initiative aims to empower recent graduates aged 18-35 with essential skills to drive social change and entrepreneurship in their communities. Participants will undergo three weeks of training, followed by six months of community deployment, focusing on empowering local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly those owned by women. The program offers comprehensive training in leadership, digital skills, and entrepreneurship, along with career development support. Eligible applicants must be Zambian nationals or legal residents, recent graduates, and committed to participating fully in the program.

Applications are open until April 5, 2026, with training starting in May. This program emphasizes inclusivity, encouraging applications from marginalized groups and providing childcare support as needed. For more details, interested candidates can contact info@bakashana.org.

Bakashana’s Youth Leadership Program is expanding digital inclusion and business learning opportunities for youth across Northern Province. We aim to reach 1,125 youth entrepreneurs by the end of 2026: strengthening their business skills; access to networks and capital, and long-term economic sustainability. Implemented from our Resource Center and surrounding districts, this initiative reflects our commitment to gender and economic equity while equipping young leaders with practical digital and entrepreneurial skills for a changing economy.

Youth are able to access services at our health center. To learn more about how we’re educating Youth, head to our Education Services Page.

Bakashana is a community-based, grassroots program. Your contribution, however modest, directly impacts not only the young women we assist, but also their families and greater community.
